SKETCHER FROM SPAIN – MILES DAVIS

S/185.00

Label: Columbia
LP (Limited edition on yellow Vinyl)
The most luxuriant and stridently romantic of all of Davis’ recordings, Sketches of Spain pairs Davis with arranger and composer Gil Evans, with whom he had collaborated on several other projects, on a program of compositions largely derived from the Spanish folk tradition. Recorded between November 1959 and March 1960 – after Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley had left the band – the album features performances by Paul Chambers, Jimmy Cobb and Elvin Jones. Sketches of Spain is regarded as an exemplary recording of Third Stream, a musical fusion of jazz, European classical, and styles from world music.
