Architecture + Interior design
Casa Manire
Casa Manire reimagines the connection between architecture and the landscape in the Cusco cloud forest. Drawing inspiration from Case Study Houses and Japanese cabins, it translates these design principles into the Amazonian context, featuring a lightweight metal structure that complements natural materials like ana caspi wood, volcanic stone, and plant fibers.
The design emphasizes transparency and openness: large glass panels create a seamless flow between the interior and the surrounding jungle, reflecting the landscape by day and glowing softly at night. Upstairs, windows offer stunning panoramic views of the mountains, deepening the bond with nature.
Constructed using local materials and craftsmanship, Casa Manire embraces sustainability with hydroelectric power and spring water. Its eco-friendly roof, which naturally changes color over time, blends with the environment, presenting a contemporary approach to architecture that is in tune with the natural world.
