Perspectivas de la música Afroperuana
A collection curated by BUH Records and Manongo Mujica, showcasing four distinct perspectives on Afro-Peruvian music, each expressed through its own unique graphic identity. Chocolate. Perú’s Master Percussionist by Chocolate Algendones delves into his mystical and ritualistic world, drawing on themes of Santería and the desert.
Hechicero by Cotito captures his persona as an artist through creatively altered photographs. Homenaje al Carmen by La Familia Ballumbrosio reflects life in the countryside and Afro-Peruvian tradition, using a collage of 1980s images. Permutado offers a contemporary take on Afro-Peruvian percussion with a vibrant aesthetic, blending jazz and experimental influences. This collection transforms the sonic essence of each album into a visual experience.
